Elon Musk is proposing a "dick measuring contest." It's unclear what sparked the sudden interest on Musk's part in whipping out a ruler to quash his Zuckerberg beef. But the cage match Musk suggested in June also started out as a joke — at least until Zuckerberg took the bait and asked Musk to send over the location for fight night. She's been known to scold her son occasionally, so maybe she can make him see reason where no one else can. Good luck, Momma Musk; you're the hero we need in this darkest of timelines.

New York CNN —Elon Musk on Thursday said he’s found a new CEO to take over Twitter, months after he first promised to step back from the role. The new CEO will assume the role at Twitter Inc., which recently changed its name to X Corp., in the coming weeks, Musk said. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!” Musk said in a tweet. Musk has faced criticism for a series of policy changes at Twitter, which often came without clear justification and raised concerns about the impact on Twitter’s users. Even as Musk prepares to step back from the CEO role, he will likely maintain significant control over the future direction of the company.
Elon Musk said on Thursday that he'd found a new CEO for Twitter. Elon Musk said on Thursday that he'd found a new CEO for Twitter. Musk became Twitter CEO, describing himself as "Chief Twit," last year after he bought the company and fired CEO Parag Agrawal within hours of taking the social-media company private. Since Musk took over as Twitter CEO in November, some Tesla shareholders have expressed concern over his focus on the social-media company as Musk has taken to sleeping at its headquarters. Musk has said from the beginning that he had planned for his stint as Twitter's CEO to be temporary.
But it’s not clear just how and when Musk might return Twitter to growth. Musk’s primary plan to grow Twitter’s business through an overhauled subscription strategy has resulted in much chaos but only a limited number of actual subscriptions. In the process, Musk has also upended his own reputation. Disrupting the digital town squareFor years, what differentiated Twitter from other social platforms was that it served as a central hub for real-time news. Tesla (TSLA) shareholders recently complained to the company’s board that Musk appears “overcommitted.”“His reputation has been diminished significantly with Twitter … and once you lose it, it’s very difficult to recover,” Klepper said.
Ex-Facebook exec Alex Stamos said Elon Musk's blue check saga was a "historical self-own." Last week, Musk took away blue check marks from some legacy accounts, only to return some of them. Facebook's former security chief, Alex Stamos, said Elon Musk's blue check mark saga last week was a "historical self-own." The billionaire initially agreed to give blue check marks solely to users who subscribed to Twitter Blue for $8 per month, but many celebrities and news organizations made a point of refusing to pay for the service. Stamos, who has been critical of Musk in the past, was previously Facebook's chief security officer until 2018.
Twitter's former head of ad sales, Robin Wheeler, took a dig at Elon Musk over his "Titter" sign. The Chief Twit said on Sunday that he'd painted over the "w" on Twitter's sign at its headquarters. Sign up for our newsletter for the latest tech news and scoops — delivered daily to your inbox. Since taking Twitter private, Musk has eliminated over half of the company's workforce. New York CNN —Under Elon Musk, Twitter has antagonized multiple major news organizations by labeling them state-funded media, appears to have eased restrictions on Russian government accounts and made crude jokes on the front of its headquarters and on Musk’s own Twitter display name. Musk has said Twitter is working to improve the platform’s ad targeting to increase value for advertisers. But it didn’t exactly go to plan — instead of removing checks from all previously verified users, Twitter appeared to target a single account belonging to the New York Times. Days later, Twitter’s home button was temporarily replaced with doge, the meme representing the cryptocurrency dogecoin, which Musk has promoted. The company also briefly restricted Twitter users from sharing links to a rival platform, upsetting users, including one who had previously reported the so-called Twitter files using documents provided by Musk.
He said the "tipping point" for autonomous vehicles will happen within 10 years. Today, no personal vehicles can drive themselves, though some companies have started offering autonomous-taxi rides in certain cities. Gates believes personal vehicles will get self-driving capabilities only after the tech comes to long-haul trucking, deliveries, taxis, and rental cars. He predicts that autonomous vehicles will eventually be cheaper than regular ones. And he expects that autonomous vehicles will save people time (that they would otherwise be driving) and help the elderly and people with disabilities get around.
New York CNN —Elon Musk’s record on delivering on the deluge of pledges he has made as “chief Twit” is less than ideal. Since then, Musk has made a number of wild changes and promises pertaining to Twitter. ► Maximal free speech: Musk repeatedly talked about Twitter being a home for free speech. When I reached out to Musk on Wednesday morning with questions about his failed promises, he didn’t respond. But I did receive an auto-reply poop emoji from the press@twitter.com email address, a feature Musk recently said he would implement.
Tesla investor Ron Baron once emailed Elon Musk and told him to stop tweeting when upset. Baron told CNBC that Musk has made him "$5 billion so far, on a $400 million investment." In his 2018 email, Baron told Musk to turn the other cheek. When an attorney for the plaintiffs showed him the email, Musk offered his own take on Baron's message to him. "He's not saying don't use Twitter, he's saying I shouldn't respond to criticism in the news on Twitter," Musk said on the stand at the time.
LONDON, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Roald Dahl's famous children's books including "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Matilda" will be published uncensored later this year said publisher Puffin, bowing to pressure after a public outcry over modernised versions. Puffin, which is part of United States-based publisher Penguin Random House, said on Friday that it would release 17 of Dahl's titles under its Penguin logo later this year, with his original text unchanged. "By making both Puffin and Penguin versions available, we are offering readers the choice to decide how they experience Roald Dahl's magical, marvellous stories," Penguin Random House Children's managing director Francesca Dow said in a statement. Dahl's stinging and quirky descriptions of the adult antagonists, like Miss Trunchbull in "Matilda", have delighted young readers for decades. Puffin publishes Dahl's works, including "James and the Giant Peach" and "The Witches" in partnership with the Roald Dahl Story Company.
Citadel, one of the largest hedge funds, accepts just 1% of applicants to its associate program. Few college students know what a hedge fund is, let alone that they want to work for one. Its associate program lets aspiring fund managers skip the traditional two-year investment banking program that is usually a prerequisite for a hedge fund job. The associate program is different from Citadel's broader internship program. But the accelerated nature of the CAP program appealed to him over other opportunities, he said.
Language in the latest editions of some Roald Dahl books has been changed, The Telegraph reported. The Roald Dahl Story Company said the changes mean the books "can continue to be enjoyed by all." Roald Dahl, who died in 1990, is one of the most successful authors of all time. The Roald Dahl Story Company, which manages the copyright of Roald Dahl's books and collaborated with Puffin to update the texts, said that "the irreverence and sharp-edged spirit" of the original books had not been lost. Many of Roald Dahl's books have been turned into films or TV shows.
Elon Musk is asking Twitter users to "like" adverts to help boost engagement on the platform. "Press the heart," he tweeted on Friday in a comment about an ad for Hyundai. The "Chief Twit" is calling on Twitter users to comment and like some ads on the platform, in an apparent attempt to boost interaction. The ad has had more than 8.5 million views but only about 6,000 likes. The worker suggested it was as a result of a lack of public interest since he bought Twitter, per Platformer.
A Twitter engineer said it took 20 interviews to find a new job after getting laid off. Andrew Glose, a senior Android engineer, was one victim of Elon Musk's mass layoffs in November. Glose has found a new job at fitness company Peloton, where he is also a senior Android engineer. "I'm very excited about learning new areas of my field and channeling my passion for fitness into my job," Glose concluded. On Thursday, Musk reportedly fired an engineer who told him he was becoming less popular on Twitter.
But Mr. Musk’s Twitter feed is often an echo chamber. 48 hours of Elon Musk’s tweets Circles representing Musk’s tweets are sized by the total retweets, likes, replies and quote tweets in response to what he posted. A chart of Mr. Musk’s original tweets, replies and quote tweets over a two-day period in November. A website tracking Mr. Musk’s private jet movement suggested that he traveled away from San Francisco around that time. Shareholders are now also seeking billions of dollars in damages in a lawsuit after Mr. Musk’s takeover proposal never materialized.
And speaking of cold hard reality, the Wall Street Journal reported that Elon Musk is trying to raise fresh funds to pay off some of the pricier bits of his $13 billion Twitter loan. New fundraising to the tune of $3 billion could help Musk repay the obligations he took on in his Twitter takeover. For every quarter that goes by without refinancing, the interest rate goes up by an additional 0.50 percentage point, regulatory filings show. That said, if Twitter can pay back those unsecured bridge loans, meeting its debt obligations would be much more manageable. What are some ways you think Elon Musk could boost revenue at Twitter?

Elon Musk disputed a tweet and said Twitter now has 2,300 "active, working employees". Some staff from other Musk companies such as Tesla and SpaceX were brought in when he took over. "There are ~2300 active, working employees at Twitter," he wrote. "There are still hundreds of employees working on trust & safety, along with several thousand contractors." Musk also took issue with that figure, tweeting that "less than 10 people from my other companies are working at Twitter."

Elon Musk dismissed David Sacks from a meeting he said was "too technical," The Verge reported. "David, this meeting is too technical for you," Musk said, according to an anonymous engineer who attended the meeting and spoke to The Verge. Sacks, Musk, and a spokesperson for Twitter did not respond to a request for comment ahead of publication. Despite Musk deeming the meeting "too technical" for Sacks, the anonymous engineer appeared to doubt Musk's own technical understanding. "I was writing C programs in the '90s," Musk told the engineer when she attempted to explain the company's data-center efficiency.
Elon Musk has updated his Twitter bio to read: "State-affiliated media." Musk then changed his Twitter bio to "state-affiliated media" in the early hours of Monday. It comes after the release of more Twitter Files, tweeted by journalist Matt Taibbi, on Saturday. Following his acquisition of Twitter in late October, Musk changed his bio to "Chief Twit," signaling he was in charge of the platform. After laying off thousands of employees in November, Musk updated his bio to "Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator."
